With the festivities off-season coming to a conclusion after the draft, it is time to revisit the myriad of moves by the Cowboys this offseason. I'll start with free agency. To the right of the note is the duration of the contract and the dollar amount and years.
WR – Terrell Owens – C + 3 / 25
It is a boom or bust signing. By doing so, we have one of the most powerful
Offenses in the league. There's also a chance that he might destroy our team
chemistry and ruin our season. I do not think this will happen in the first year anyway.
ILB – Akin Ayodele – B + 5 / 17
Ayodele seems to be the perfect player to replace Nguyen. He is tall,
Physical LB who excels to stuffing the run. He is young and still has
backwards, but it is just a question really considering Jacksonville
has not even wish.
OT – Jason Fabini – A 3/7.5
It was a great blow. We brought in a veteran tackle for a good bargain. It
will help increase the stability of our offensive line.
OG – Kyle Kosi – B 5 / 15
The Cowboys obviously think that Kyle is break apart season.
But he has not really been something special to this point. I like his signature, but I wonder if it will actually upgrade Larry Allen.
TE – Ryan Hannam – B-3 / 5
We need another TE blocking and should feel very good role. It is always
largely a developing player though so Dallas is hoping that it improves on its
performance in Seattle
LB – Rocky Boiman – B 3 / 5
Boiman is a great player on special teams, which provides a depth solid the LB. It
better be as good as people say it is on the unit cover is worth the money.
K – Mike Vanderjagt – B 3/5.5
We certainly need a kicker, but I would prefer one that could kick-off
and has not been such a shock.
FS – Marcus Coleman – A 1/.8
I'm not sure if he has anything left, but if the fact we had a terrible time fly. Can not complain when they made only about eight hundred thousand.
I disagreed with some of the top picks in the draft, but you can get excited not only
because they do not select "your" guys. I really liked what we did on the second day. We got some great value. They onsite sorry I did not fill the holes in the offensive line was, but you can fill the holes so many years.
OLB Bobby Carpenter – A
It was a great pick. It is the ideal solution for our defense. They only thing that could make this selection is better if we could have exchanged a few
spots and still got him.
TE player
come in and contribute immediately.
Jason Hatcher – C
I'm not a big fan of that choice, but I can see why it was made. Hatcher has freakish
athletic ability for a guy his size and could really be a steal. That being said, was already one of our deepest positions, and I think we have two starters along term already here, Canty and Spears.
WR / KR Skyler Green – B —
I like Green, but it might be a little high for him. It is a great kick returner, but never as much as a receiver.
FS Pat Watkins – A
I love the pick Watkins. It was a good player Florida Lawrence, and he really
great potential. Do not be too surprised if he is our starting free safety.
NT Montavious Stanley – A +
The best pick of our project. It is Taylor Made for the nose facing position. Not only must give great depth, but it has great potential as well. I do not see how he made the 6th round as good as we had in college.
G / T Pat McQuistian – B
Pat a great sleeper who will struggle to make the team without
injury. It is a big lineman, strong and athletic enough, but it is so new that you can get.
OL EJ Whitley – A
I love this pick. Whitley was a coherent part of the Tech offensive line at Texas for three years. He started to experience all the O-line position, but it is probably better suited to play center and guard. I'm rooting for him to make the team, because if we have another center on our list then we will be more likely to use Gurode as a starting guard if one of starters falters. Otherwise, Parcells will be hesitant to do because it would only have one other center on the list.
Overall, I would note our off-season a B +. Allen Cup and Glover
hurt a little, but you can not complain of many points on every shot we took. Bill and Jerry finally obtain A for effort because they have no doubt tried to improve this team. I would give one a solid free agency, because we have signed with some Quality guy upside while avoiding the huge contracts that may haunt you. I will give the project B with a margin for improvement if Hatcher Pans Out.
