Is this a better parachute as a circle or a rectangle?
I am involved in a club of science and the subject is parachutes. I wonder if the shape the circle is better than conventional rectabgle and whats the difference in how they act in the air?
The circular parachute basis will put you on the ground but your landing point depends on the strength and direction of the wind where you will eventually land in other words you do not have much control. With the other type of waterfall you control lines, which gives you good control orientation and allows you to land on a specific location (except the wind conditions very unfavorable). The purpose of a parachute to put you on the ground at a speed slower than terminal velocity, so either is good if they work properly. Personally, I prefer to control where I ask myself and then it's much more fun.
