How does a memory aid that create a true sense of self, rather than relying on …?
How does a memory aid that create a true sense of self, rather than relying on the opinions of others? I went into a self-philosophical argument about this and was curious to hear what others think. Basically, I wonder how memories create a sense unique identity by which every person can truly be defined itself, but how people in general do not rely on memories, but rather their self-consciousness, rely on others to drive their actions. What are your thoughts on this?
Here are my random thoughts. I feel a certain extent we can rely on other people …. afterall we do live in a society and others, in a sense, we help show who we are, or reflect the things for us. But be aware that if they make mistakes, or on leave, would it leave us crippled? it would deplete or undermine our sense of identity if we do not have our own inner resources to keep us up. I do not believe it either Healthy all depend only on others. We have fans, but really, how everyone is fighting against their own battles, and knowing the transitory nature of things, it is better not to rely on yourself for your feelings of self-efficacy, self esteem and confidence itself. Be your best friend, and I know who you are. Do not compare yourself to others. Know your strengths, work on your weaknesses. Value yourself, defend your self-esteem, and do not fall when someone in your life leaves you.
