Paper Trimmer
How can I change our electric cutter to become?

We have a large paper trimmers at work and it cost a lot of money (600 pounds). It works by feeding you the paper and pressing a handle on top for cutting. Now, with so many successful inventors and robot enthusiasts construction there, it should be possible to invent an electric car for the cutting handle. It could be operated by foot. How can we do it and where can I buy parts?

From something like a bigger / better version of the safety cutter here? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paper_cutter Two easy ways to push / pull handle … One is to use a solenoid. which gives you Direct Linear Motion. You need a solenoid REALLY heavy push / pull handle, and would probably move too quickly Secondly, and may be easier in practice is to use an electric motor engine (and possibly a gearbox) to rotate a thread. If a nut is placed on the screw and the nut is prevented from turning (by adapter nut that attaches to the handle) and handle nut will be conducted along the axis of the thread. This is the direction that depends on how the thread is currently / handling "of the son. Then he you just need a little box that controls the motor. You need a way of detecting when the cutter has moved across the paper (so that the motor / solenoid does not try to force the cutter too far / do not know return "Trip"). Just use some sort of proximity sensor (read and relay magnet, or even a micro-switch) to detect when the cut is to limit it to travel. — You always need to explain how implement the control box, but first I need to understand the kind of movement / control that you lack. assumes that you want that control crazy to start the machine when it is pressed. Need an idea on how you want the control to the function / / Comment Are you willing to work the controls …. Having the brake function as a Deadman, and stop the sound machine, when rejected as a requirement essensial very good /? Do you want the machine to continue to come and go, to "cut the rings" as the pedal is pressed? Or do you want the machine to start a single cycle when the pedal is pressed, and the need to pedal to be released and supported again (at the end of the cycle) to "order" a new cycle. Also later, without having to return until more paper is added? — Threaded rod / nuts can be obtained from most decent hardware stores. Then expoy resin may be an adapter / holder for the conduit nut. (lay tinfoil / spray Silcone to prevent things that you do not want to be attached, glued together, then pour the epoxy into a mold) probably be able to get brackets / boxes / screws / sheet metal to make a frame for the machine, and cache power safely away. For an engine / gearbox try a (decent) model shop, or a supplier of electronic parts such as Maplin / RS. Electronics parts supplier asortment generally have a switch that you may find useful, and other electrical components that you may have need to complete your project.
